The Bridge is not a traditional Western yoga studio. It is an intimate, boutique space where yoga meets sound, meditation, breathwork, mantra, ceremony, and earth-honoring wisdom.
Rather than offering a single path, we offer many practices and pathways into presence—from group yoga and individualized sessions with a therapeutic focus to sound journeys, iRest Yoga Nidra, mantra, meditation, sacred circles, and ceremony. Each experience is an invitation to reconnect with the body, settle the nervous system, and listen more deeply to what is present.
At the heart of The Bridge is a simple conviction: the most meaningful practices are the ones that meet people exactly where they are.
No performance. No pretense. Nothing to prove. Just a steady room, a clear intention, and the time and space to arrive.
Our Story
Our Team
Teresa, Founder
Teresa is a yoga teacher and sound and energy medicine practitioner with over ten years of experience. Her training spans Vinyasa, Yin, Kundalini, iRest Level 1, Yoga Nidra, Shamanic Energy Medicine, and she is currently completing her Yoga Therapy training. She has worked in studios, recovery centers, women’s shelters, and correctional facilities.
Inspired by the transformative power of sound, she founded The Bridge as a space for healing, reflection, and connection. Through sound journeys, yoga, breathwork, iRest Yoga Nidra, and energy medicine, Teresa helps people slow down, reconnect, and navigate change with greater clarity and ease. Her work honors the cultures, traditions, and lineages from which these practices arise. She offers private and group classes.
Alberta, Yoga Instructor
Alberta Dering brings over a decade of experience in trauma-informed yoga, restorative movement, and mindfulness. More recently, she has begun weaving crystal bowls and sound into her sessions to support deeper rest, grounding, and nervous system restoration.
She has supported wellness programs locally and nationwide, working with youth, families, survivors, and community-based organizations.
A connector at heart, Alberta creates nurturing spaces where people can pause, breathe, soften, and reconnect. Her work is grounded in compassion, presence, lived experience, and meaningful connection.
Becca, Yoga Instructor
Everyone who rolls out a yoga mat has their own story. Becca Schmidt’s job is to create a safe and welcoming space where students can rediscover their strengths and move forward into who they already are inside.
Her teaching draws on more than 500 hours of training across Anusara, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa. She completed her 240-hour foundational certification through the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, her 300-hour advanced training with Ignite Yoga and Wellness in Orlando, and additional certifications in Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors at Duke Integrative Medicine, Prenatal Yoga, and Ashtanga Adjustments with David Swenson. Becca hosts the podcast The Language of Yoga, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Chacha, Movement
Chacha Melear brings more than 30 years of experience as a personal trainer and an understanding of what the body needs to stay strong, mobile, and vibrant throughout life. She’s seen that true well-being is not built through strength alone—it also requires flexibility, balance, and rest. Her approach combines strengthening, active stretching, and relaxation to support vitality and a calm, balanced mind. Join Chacha for a nourishing class that brings together 3 elements of lifelong well-being: strengthening, stretching, and relaxation. Through movement and active stretches, you’ll support flexibility, balance, mobility, and strength—then allow body and mind to soften into relaxation. A practice to feel more open, steady, and at home in your body.
Valentina, Mantra
Valentina Moyano is a psychologist, singer-songwriter, and sound practitioner whose work explores the relationship between voice, mind, body, and spiritual practice. After surgery on her vocal cords and thyroid left her without a voice for several months, her relationship with sound changed profoundly — silence became a practice of listening.
As Teresa's longtime mantra teacher, Valentina joins The Bridge as a guest teacher offering virtual conversations and teachings on mantra as a practice of presence, listening, and connection. Her work invites us to experience the voice not simply as something we use, but as something we can learn to hear.
Christina, Operations
Christina supports The Bridge remotely, helping with website management, administrative work, and day-to-day operations. With a background in tech and years of customer relations experience across wellness and hospitality spaces, she helps keep things organized, connected, and running smoothly behind the scenes. She also brings a background in yoga and wellness practices, along with a lifelong love of music as a singer — and a deep belief in the healing power of sound, movement, and community. It's a set of values that feels right at home in a space built around creativity and connection.
